Why Pakistan wants a peaceful Afghanistan
Afghanistan has been in news since the war on terror started in 2001. It’s been more than 2 decades when we heard about the bomb blasts, drone attacks, collapsed infrastructure, and devastated health conditions of the local people of Afghanistan. They are suffering from the aftermath of the war on terror. Political instability in Afghanistan is the main reason behind all this mess. Incompetency at the government level leads the people of Afghanistan to nowhere but deterioration amid the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan, after a peace deal between the U.S. and the Taliban. Now more than 80 percent of the area is under the control of the Taliban and they have a stronghold over the Ashraf Ghani-led government itself. On the other hand, Pakistan suffers a lot from being neighbors with a war-torn country. As per the latest, Pakistan hosts more than 3 million Afghan refugees and bears their expenses on its own.
