Democratic candidate for vice president in US election Kamla Harris came out in support of Kashmiris.

The Democratic Party of the United States has officially nominated Joe Biden for the presidency in November this year, while Kamala Harris is running the post of vice president.

Kamla Harris has also been critical of the Modi government’s repeal of Article 370 of the Special Status of Occupied Kashmir.

Now that the vice-presidential candidate has been nominated, she has said in a statement that Kashmiris need to be reminded that they are not alone in the world. She added that we are constantly watching the situation in Kashmir, if the situation demands, we have to intervene in this matter.

It may be recalled that Kamla Harris’ nomination for the post of Vice Presidential candidate was prominent in the South Asian media due to the fact that her mother hails from the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and is very popular in the Indian community in the United States.

Kamla Harris, who represents California in the US Senate, is the first black woman to be elected vice-presidential candidate.

The Indian Defense Research Wing, an Indian defense website, has warned the Modi government over Kamla Harris’ nomination for vice-president, saying it has strong views on Kashmir, which the government needs to be wary of.

Modi, who has stepped up his cooperation with Trump, is aware of Harris’ views on Kashmiris but is silent as the election results could have a clear impact on US policy on Kashmir.
