YouTube deletes over 1 million videos for misinformation

YouTube, the Internet’s most popular video-sharing and streaming website, has deleted more than 1 million videos that provided inaccurate and dangerous information during the Corona epidemic.

The platform has removed more than 1 million videos that provide false information about the deadliest coronavirus since the outbreak of the corona epidemic, according to a report released yesterday by the YouTube administration.

“Our policy is to remove any video that could directly harm the real world,” said Neil Mohan, chief product officer of the video platform YouTube.

He said that since February 2020, more than 1 million videos claiming false treatment or fraud and providing false information about the dangerous coronavirus have been removed.

The Chief Product Officer added that in the event of a global epidemic, everyone should have the best information available to protect themselves and their families.

YouTube management says it is working to speed up the process of removing videos that provide inaccurate information.
