Zulfi Bukhari sends defamation notice to Commissioner Rawalpindi

Former Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari sent a notice to Commissioner Rawalpindi Gulzar Hussain Shah seeking Rs 1 billion in damages.
According to the notice, the report damaged the reputation of Zulfi Bukhari by wrongly implicating him. The commissioner should withdraw the defamatory statement in his report.
The legal notice called for an apology from Rawalpindi Commissioner and said that it should be complied within 14 days of receipt of the notice or else Rs 1 billion in damages would be paid.
According to the legal notice, the report accused Zulfi Bukhari of abuse of power without any evidence.
It may be recalled that the report on the Ring Road project was prepared by Rawalpindi Commissioner Gulzar Hussain Shah while two members of the inquiry committee refused to sign the report.
Following the report, Zulfi Bukhari resigned from his post.
