KHAIRPUR, Sep 10 (Online): Two minor girls have lost their lives while seven people are still missing as boat of flood victims turned in Khairpur Thursday.
At least two dead bodies have been recovered from River Indus. The victims have been identified as Laila 10 and Saido Sheikh 10.
According to media reports, the teams have rescued 18 people while operation to save others is underway.
The rescue personnel told that 25 people were traveling on the boat at the time of the incident.
The incident happened in Pir Goth, where 25 persons of Mor Jhabar village were migrating to a safer place due to flood in the Indus River and their boat capsized in the area of Kachcha.
It can be seen from video of sinking boat which went viral that some persons dived into the river before the boat turned turtle.
The divers have started their efforts and retrieved bodies of two minor girls.
The search and rescue operation is underway to retrieve the other missing persons.
