Lahore, 25th May: 241st Corps Commanders’ Conference was held under the chairmanship of Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ, Rawalpindi.

The meeting that was held on Tuesday, focused on the global, regional and national security situations.
According to DG ISPR, the situation at LOC, Working Boundary and Pak-Afghan Border were reviewed in the meeting. Corps Commanders were briefed on operational readiness to meet future challenges.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed satisfaction over the operational readiness to deal with the security threats faced.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa lauded the formations for cooperating with the civil administration to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.
The forum reviewed the security situation in the newly merged districts of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the DG ISPR, the Corps Commanders’ Conference reviewed recent developments in the Afghan peace process, and in particular the security situation along the Pak-Afghan border.

The Forum reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for regional peace and stability.

Referring to recent cross-border shootings from Afghanistan and the re-emergence of terrorist-led organizations, the forum expressed hope that Afghanistan’s territory would not be used against Pakistan.
