NCOC: Lockdown in more than 3,000 places across Pakistan

According to Baaghi TV, the NCOC meeting was chaired by Federal Minister Asad Omar.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretaries of all the provinces through video link. During the course of the meeting, they were briefed that smart lockdown were carried out at 3,497 places in 103 districts of the country. The forum was told that 52% of Corona’s tests were performed under the trace and quarantine strategy.

Addressing the meeting, the Federal Minister, Asad Omar, said that it was the result of measures taken against Coronavirus, that they managed to succeed in curbing the spread of Corona, and so far, as a nation and all stakeholders have taken the right steps which has helped us save lives.

Asad Omar added that the active response of the people has been the key to the success with regards to corona virus, so far. The people of Pakistan have shown great maturity and responsibility not only to protect themselves but also to follow the guiding principles to ensure the safety and well-being of others.

Federal Minister Asad Omar also paid tribute to the media’s efforts, citing the corona virus pandemic.

Asad Omar added that it was important to reduce the risk in order to check the possible second wave of corona in the country. Asad Omar stressed the need to ensure safety in the light of the NCOC meeting, including wearing a face mask and following health guidelines.

Chief Secretary Sindh informed the forum that, they are monitoring the educational institutions and marriage halls, and in accordance with the health guidelines issued by the NCOC, administrative measures will be ensured. “We have taken administrative action against some restaurants and wedding halls for violating the COVID-19 protocol,” Chief Secretary KP told the forum. The Chief Secretary Balochistan informed the forum that due to the implementation of the NCOCTTQ strategy, there has been a positive improvement in the cases of COVID-19 in Balochistan.

NCOC officials said that parents and teachers are requested to take special care of the following issues while sending their children to school. Send children to school wearing masks, even if it’s a cloth mask. If children show signs of cough or illness, do not send them to school at all. If the condition is worse, the child should be tested immediately. The school should be notified in case of a positive result.
