Since past decades, the world is under massive rigidity to face the current situation and challenges of the water scarcity and bad effects on our environment. The most important resources are water and oxygen to keep the balance of our existence in the earth but unfortunately water inadequacy is going to be limited. The advanced countries are being seen too upset to find remedies of such major issues.
Thus the well-to-do countries not only introduced the modern techniques of irrigation in the context of saving water and its best utilization though the year but also earned yield from it. Recently some institutions introduced drip irrigation system in Pakistan, this is to be considered the most important and valuable technics to utilize the need base water for crop and save the rest water for future consumption. Many causes are analyzed behinds the inadequacy of water, with this modern technic farmers get more yield then that of before.
Saving water is the most important factor in order to keep our lives sustainable while wastage of water will become a major cause of destruction of living creatures on the earth. Due to scarcity of water, we people don’t survive even food security will be on high risk. All the creatures directly or indirectly depends on water. Our water management practices are highly insufficient, many questions take birth that is how freshwater is used for irrigation perseverance, the crops actually we grow like rice and sugarcane are highly consumers of water hence the way we irrigate them isn’t worthwhile.
Water woes can extremely be deviate into issues of quality and quantity. We get water into our systems over the decades couldn’t change but the demand of water is highly extended due to rise in population. Meanwhile, reservoirs’ storage capacity can’t put up with this population affluent while its capacity has also been reduced. Preserving water in proper way became worst situation in our country, the most of us don’t care even of leakages or overflow of water while taking bath, shaving, washing clothes or by any other perspective.
We have limited dams to storage rain or flood water, indeed we people are much careless in the context of using and saving water for future. The world is being seen quite distressed due to water deficiency in the world. Our government should need to control over the old practices throughout the country and have to introduce the proper mechanism to make people habitual for the best usages in both kind of drinking and irrigation.
Sindh Irrigation Development Authority (SEDA) will have to be more serious in the ambiance of saving water. There should need to be initiated campaigns through electronic or printed media, Radio, FM or by social media to raise awareness among the people for “Saving water for lives and environment to keep sustain of our world.” It would be our main slogan.
