PM Khan to seal Pak-Afghan Border if Taliban takes over Afghanistan

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan will seal Pak-Afghan border if the Taliban will take over Afghanistan through military force.

While giving an interview to The New York Times’s Yara Bayoumy and Jyoti Thottam on a video call, PM Khan said that Pakistan will close Pak-Afghan border if the Taliban will take over Afghanistan through military force.

He said that Pakistan does not want to get into any Afghan Taliban conflict and that we do not want any more refugees.

PM Khan further stated in the interview that Pakistan has highlighted that if Taliban will pursue military victory option in Afghanistan, it will lead to “protracted civil war”. Pakistan will be the most effected country by it as Pakistan has more Pashtuns.

He categorically said that Pakistan will “recognise a government which is chosen by the people of Afghanistan, whichever government they choose.”
