Lahore, 2nd July: The government of Pakistan is considering increasing flight operations after thousands of Pakistanis got stranded abroad.
According to details, the authorities are mulling over increasing Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights after reports of many Pakistanis stranded abroad due to the cancelation of flights from foreign airlines.
Sources have informed that the authorities are considering increasing PIA flights and use big aircraft for facilitating stranded pakistanis.
According to reports, earlier the foreign airlines booked extra flights to Pakistan keeping in mind the ease in COVID-19 restrictions before the NCOC meeting held on June 29. Soon they had to cancel the flights after the NCOC took the decision against any ease.
This resulted in the cancellation of flight tickets that Pakistanis had bought at higher rates. Hence, Pakistanis in Turkey and Doha, Qatar faced cancellation of their booked tickets, causing stress and panic.
Pakistan took a decision to limit international flights amid the COVID-19 pandemic on June 01. After which, Turkish and Qatar Airlines canceled their scheduled flights from the United States to Pakistan, which were bound to reach Pakistan in the first week of July.
Sources informed that the Pakistanis who are now stuck in the US are facing difficulties returning to their homeland.
