Zulfi Bukhari vs Reham Khan, who won the first round? #Baaghi

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Affairs Zulfi Bukhari has won the first round of defamation suit against Imran Khan’s ex-wife Reham Khan.

According to the details, Bukhari had approached the British court on the allegations made by Reham Khan regarding the Roosevelt Hotel. The case of Zulfi Bukhari and Reham Khan was heard by Justice Karen Steyn.

The initial hearing found four allegations of corruption and dishonesty in the YouTube broadcast and four tweets and retweets to be insulting. Reham Khan said that he raised the issue of sale of national assets in the public interest. However, Justice Karen Steyn did not accept Reham Khan’s explanation and accepted Bukhari’s position.

It may be recalled that on December 6, 2019, Reham Khan had alleged in a YouTube broadcast that Bukhari had an interest in the sale of Roosevelt Hotel. Reham Khan had also said that national assets were being sold to help people like Zulfi Bukhari.

Bukhari’s lawyer, Barrister Claire Overman, had called the case “Level One” extremely insulting.

On the other hand, Reham Khan was of the view that whether Zulfi Bukhari’s status was damaged or not, which he said was in the public interest, therefore, “thing level three” should be imposed.

In a statement, Reham Khan said: “I have no reason to harbor any personal vendetta against Zulfi. We parted on cordial terms. This, however, does not mean that I will not criticize the PTI government’s performance and plans that make no sense.”
