Airblue aircraft makes a deadly landing, risking passenger lives #Baaghi

An Airblue aircraft, flight number PA-308,  just landed at the Islamabad International Airport in heavy thunderstorm with gusty winds risking the precious lives of the passengers on board.

According to the details, the Airblue Airbus 321 aircraft landed around 08:15 pm (PST) today at the Islamabad International Airport giving a tailwind component of approximately 25 knots (kts). It is to be noted that the tailwind component of the aircraft exceeded the allowable limit under very dangerous weather conditions.

Sources reveal that at the time of landing, the airport runway was wet due to heavy rainfall. Even under these circumstances the pilot forcibly tried to land the plane playing with the lives of innocent passengers.

Furthermore, the Baaghi TV learnt from its sources that the air traffic control (ATC) gave clearance to the pilot in these life-threatening conditions. Not only that but it has been revealed that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) also allowed Airblue to continue approach.

This incident is yet again reviving worries about safety standards in a domestic aviation industry that is plagued by weak regulation, corruption and labor unrest.

Back in April 2012, a similar incident took place when a Boeing 737-200 airplane operated by Bhoja Air, flying in a thunderstorm, crashed into a wheat field outside Islamabad on Friday evening, killing all 127 people on board.

Baaghi TV has just learnt that another Airblue aircraft, flight number PA 223, has been given clearance for passengers by the Civil Aviation Authority and the ATC. Flight number PA-223 is scheduled to depart at 09:30 pm (PST) from Islamabad to Karachi.

When will the regulatory authority of Pakistan and the aviation officials start thinking about the possible consequences before making such blunders? When will they stop being a threat to the precious lives of the passengers?

The civil aviation in Pakistan is inherently defective and any meaningful improvements in the CAA are impossible unless substantive changes are implemented.
