LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has tested positive for COVID-19 during the fourth wave of the pandemic.

According to PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz has tested positive for coronavirus after which she has quarantined herself. Maryam Nawaz has been very busy with Azad Kashmir elections for some days and also participated in rallies.

It should be noted that 44 more people died from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours across the country. Around 4,119 positive cases have been reported. Due to neglect and violation of SOPs, the fourth wave of coronavirus started gaining momentum in Pakistan, the rate of positive cases increased to about 8%.

NCOC Announces Exam Decision, Reopening of Educational Institutes

Pakistan ranks 31st in the list of corona patients. According to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), there have been 4,119 more coronavirus cases in Pakistan in the last 24 hours with positivity rate reaching 7.8%.

Across Pakistan, 23,133 patients have died of the corona virus so far, bringing the total number of infected patients to 1,015,827. There are 56,952 coronavirus patients being treated in hospitals, quarantine centers, ventilators and homes across the country, of whom 2,898 are in critical condition. 935,742 patients have so far recovered from the disease.

In the last 24 hours, another 52,291 tests for the corona virus were conducted in the country. So far, a total of 15,818,764 coronavirus tests have been performed. In the last 24 hours, 683,616 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus across Pakistan. So far, a total of 26,248,235 doses of corona vaccine have been given. The number of coronavirus patients in Sindh has once again risen to 371,762 from other provinces, bringing the total death toll to 5,860.
