Lahore: Full security is being provided to the polio workers during the ongoing anti-polio drive in the provincial capital from August 2 to 6.
Giving details, DIG Operations Sajid Kayani said that anti-polio teams are being provided security in 169 union councils of the city by Lahore police.
More than 1400 officers and youths are performing their duties on the security of anti-polio teams, he said.
Sajid Kayani said that motorcycles and vehicles of Lahore police stations are also on patrol during the polio campaign.
Over 498 patrolling motorcycles and 83 vehicles of the police stations are patrolling in the polio campaign areas. Teams are also ensuring effective patrolling in all concerned union councils.
DIG Operations Sajid Kayani said that negligence in the safety of the teams would not be tolerated under any circumstances. In case of any untoward incident, immediate legal action should be taken.
