Lahore: The proposals of FPCCI are under consideration. The country’s economy is growing, the country’s exports have reached 31 billion dollars. Despite the corona virus, the Federal Board of Revenue has received four thousand seven hundred and thirty two billion rupees.
The government has made smart lockdown and wise efforts to control the corona virus.
These views were expressed by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib during a meeting with Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem Bhilar, Regional Chairman, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Raja Muhammad Saleem, Senior PTI Leader. The Minister of State further said that work is underway to build several dams and vast reservoirs of water in the country. These measures will increase the water storage capacity and also provide electricity supply to the people.
FPCCI Regional Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem Bhilar suggested that more than one and a half crore commercial electricity connections in the country. They should be included in the tax net. The current tax system is not sustainable for future generations, with only one per cent of the population carrying the burden of the entire state. He further said that out of 220 million people of the country, less than 2 million people file tax returns, more than 85% tax is paid by 300 companies of the country, more than 75% tax is being collected from manufacturing sector while the country’s menu. The manufacturing sector and the industrial sector are being badly affected. Saleem Bhilar added that due to many loopholes in the policies, the business community is reluctant to enter the tax net.
