Lahore, 31st August: The authorities in Punjab have decided to arrest people entering shopping malls who have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus starting from September 1.

According to details, in the wake of the fourth wave of coronavirus, the authorities in Lahore have decided to arrest people entering shopping malls who have not been vaccinated against the virus from September 1.

In this regard, an important meeting was held at the Commissioner’s Office in Lahore on Tuesday in view of the coronavirus situation. In the meeting today it was decided to take strict action regarding the compliance of coronavirus SOPs and vaccination in the province. It was also decided to take action against government employees who did not get vaccinated against the virus.

Besides, it was also decided to activate enforcement committees at the police station level in Lahore which will be tasked to see that complete the ban on indoor wedding ceremonies is being enforced properly. They will also check the number of participants in the outdoor wedding events.

Commissioner Lahore said that we are facing the fourth wave of COVID-19 and it is spreading rapidly due to the negligence of the people. From September 1, the administration and police will be checking everywhere during the flag march raid. No service will be provided in the city for a citizen who has not been vaccinated.

According to the announcement issued by the Lahore office, services in transport, fuel and restaurants will be stopped, vaccination of every citizen coming to the shop, market or shopping mall will be checked, entry of customers in shopping malls is subject to the proof of their vaccination.

In this regard, it has been decided that people will be arrested who will enter the shopping malls without vaccination. Businesses or shops sealed in violation of COVID SOPs will not be de-sealed for more than a week.

The Lahore CCPO said that the police would extend full cooperation to the district administration for the implementation of coronavirus SOPs. Citizens are urged to wear face masks while going out and follow all safety measures.
