According to reports, the court has adjourned the case to September 20, directing the parties to file a reply.
The court has ordered the advocate general in the case to appear before the Punjab consultant with instructions regarding the appointment. The case will be heard on a daily basis from the next hearing and a review of the impact of environmental pollution will also be done.
In view of this project, the advocate environment stated the entire River Ravi had to be cleaned under it, to which the court asked that the project be analyzed.
Earlier, during a previous hearing, the Lahore High Court (LHC) had imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on the Punjab government. Justice Shahid Karim of the LHC had heard a petition against the injunction seeking to acquire agricultural land for the River Ravi Urban Project.
The Lahore High Court had repeatedly fined the Punjab government Rs 5 lakh for filing miscellaneous petitions against the injunction, expressing strong displeasure, and gave directions to appoint international consultants to assess the environmental impact.
