Oct 5, 2021: Annually on October 5, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day 2021 to honour our teachers for their contribution to our upbringing.

World Teachers’ Day is observed every year on October 5 to honour educators across the world. Read about the history and significance of this day here.

International Teachers’ Day is celebrated every year on October 5 to recognize the rights and responsibilities of teachers around the world. Of course, teachers are great friends and philosophers who guide us through life, thick and thin. This day is to honor, support, recognize and celebrate the country’s teachers.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared October 5, 1994, International Teachers’ Day, and since then it has been celebrated nationwide on October 5 every year. This day marks the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO UNESCO Recommendation on Teacher Status.

Interestingly, it was adopted by UNESCO at a special intergovernmental conference convened in Paris in collaboration with the ILO.

According to UNESCO’s official website, “This recommendation sets out international standards for teachers’ rights and responsibilities, as well as their initial preparation and further education, recruitment, employment, teaching and learning conditions.”

Historically, the UNESCO General Conference even adopted a UNESCO recommendation in 1997 regarding the status of higher education teaching staff.

The purpose of International Teachers’ Day is to appreciate, evaluate and improve the condition of teachers around the world. In addition, the day is seen as an opportunity to reflect on and resolve issues related to teachers and teaching.

To celebrate World Teachers’ Day, UNESCO and Education International (EI) hold a campaign each year focusing on a variety of topics to provide a better understanding of teachers and their profession as they contribute to the development of students and society.

This year, the day is being celebrated globally as “Restoring Education in the Hearts of Teachers”, in the wake of the global disruption caused by the Cowade 19 crisis over the past year and a half.

The theme for International Teachers’ Day 2021 is “Teachers at the Center for the Rehabilitation of Education.” According to UNESCO, this year, a five-day series of global and regional events will show how the corona virus epidemic has affected the teaching profession, highlighting effective and promising policy responses and the steps to be taken to establish these measures. What is needed. Make sure the teaching staff develop to their full potential.

There is a section of people who have played a major role in maintaining the normal symptoms during this epidemic and they are our teachers and teaching staff. Teachers around the world are working harder than ever to organize their work into a brand new ‘online’ that requires them to approach new teaching methods, embrace its challenges and overcome challenges.

Then navigate your students and their parents through the unfamiliar world of online classes. Teachers have continued classes, taken exams, completed academic sessions, performed complex standard operating procedures (SOPs) to keep everyone safe when schools reopen and, most of all, their students.

The historic recommendation addresses the issue of teaching staff policy, recruitment, initial training, as well as continuing teacher education. International Teachers’ Day is of paramount importance as it celebrates progress and considers ways to address the challenges of the teaching profession.

This day is mainly focused on their employment and working conditions, which are sometimes overlooked. These guidelines elevate the status of teachers in the interest of quality education.
