Big B, Dharmendra Missing at Lata's Funeral, Find Out Why?

Amitabh Bachchan (also known as Big B) and Dharmendra were seen missing at Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral as she breathed her last at the age of 92.

As news of the legendary singer’s demise broke, several celebrities rushed to her residence to pay their last respects. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mega Bollywood stars like Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Javed Akhtar and Sachin Tendulkar, several celebrities from different fields were seen attending the last rituals of the ‘Nightingale of India’.

However, the absence of two famous Bollywood stars, Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra did raise a lot of questions and now it has reported Amitabh Bachan missed the funeral of the acclaimed singer owing to COVID-19 situation.

According to a report of India Today, Amitabh Bachchan paid his condolences to the family of the deceased, met her relatives at their Peddar Road residence and later left the venue.

He did not participate in the funeral held at the Shivaji Park in accordance to the SOPs of COVID-19 and also to safe guard his own health. Big B also said that his presence could have attracted a large audience. He was accompanied by his daughter, Shweta Nanda Bachchan.

Earlier in the day, the celebrity shared a throwback post of himself and Lata Mangeshkar. He penned an emotional note in the caption stating, “She has left us…the voice of a million centuries has left us…she resounds now in the heavens.”

As for Dharmendra, the veteran actor informed that he was deeply disheartened by the death of Lata Mangeshkar and that he was very uncomfortable and uneasy. He also revealed that he got ready three times to go to the singer’s funeral but could find it in himself to see her leaving the world.

“I also want to tell you that she would make it a point to send me gifts occasionally. She also sent me quite a few motivating messages and kept telling me to remain strong. I remember putting a slightly gloomy post on Twitter and she immediately called to check up on me. Often, we would chat for 20-30 minutes. She adored me,” Dharmendra added.
