Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal has informed using Twitter that former Information Secretary of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ahmed Jawad has joined PML-N.

In his tweet on social media, Ahsan Iqbal said that former PTI Information Secretary Ahmed Jawad announced his joining PML-N during a meeting with the party president, Shehbaz Sharif.

“Ahmed Jawad is one of those educated people who fell prey to the false claims of Imran Niazi and fell into the trap of PTI’s slogan of change but he did not engage in abusive politics,” Ahsan Iqbal tweeted.

It is to be remembered that on Wednesday, Ahsan Iqbal shared a picture of himself and Ahmad Jawad, on his official Twitter account, urging the former PTI member to join PML-N.

“I was pleased to meet an old friend, Ahmad Jawad. We had a good chat on the current political situation and challenges Pakistan is facing today,” he tweeted along with the picture.

In January this year, Ahmad Jawad was served a show-cause notice asking him to explain his position regarding party violation matter, within seven days of the receipt of the notice. Ahmad Jawad did not respond to the notice.

According to a statement issued by the PTI: “The Sub Committee of the Standing Committee on Accountability  and Discipline (SCAD) after analysing the facts of the case and reading the reply of the respondent found him committing a severe violation of the party constitution, hence, unanimously decided to strike down the party membership of Mr Jawad Ahmad from the party membership registration.”

In response to the ruling of the PTI’s decision, Ahmad Jawad said that it was “a piece of paper which does not value more than a piece of s**t”.

As a result, Ahmad Jawad’s party membership was terminated after criticism and baseless allegations against the PTI leadership.
