Mubasher Lucman today in his video points out that the media has been pointing out something fishy in the dealing of the influential and business sector.
Mubasher Lucman on his Official YouTube Channel informs that now the investigation report of sugar mafia has exposed some big names whereas the IPP sector circular debt has surpassed 1900 billion.
Wiki leaks and Panama leaks were not something which we didn’t know but the only thing was it brought facts on the ground. Now IPP’s have been exposed of overcharging, every year more then 65 billion is being charged annually.
Overpayments on Account of Inappropriate IPP Tariffs
The circular debt increased during the tenure of President Zardari and rose to 228 billion whereas during the Nawaz time it became 480 billion an increase of 10 billion per month, even in Imran khan’s period a loss of 41 billion rupees per month is reported.
According to Lucman, things are designed in a fashion that these IPP’s will make a big profit which is otherwise impossible in normal business and investment.
In 1994 when Benazir first initiated the Hydropower project within a year an investor privileged policy was drafted to give undue advantage to IPP owners.
Then in 2002, 58 billion worth investment was made in IPP’s, and a second policy was drafted in Musharaf Tenure.
Lucman further tells in his video that during 2015 amidst a power crisis, acute shortages and load shedding, Nawaz Sharif played the game of favors and IPPs were awarded the bulk of benefits. The payment was made without any check and balance.

IPP’s would be paid for capacity whether or not any production was carried out. Cheaper fuel was provided without any audit if the equivalent electricity was produced.
Time has come to take a stern action against the owners of IPPs who have been blackmailing governments and overcharging the public. We all remember the pledge made on the container by PM Imran Khan about taking the corrupts to the task.
Lucman ends his video on a concerned note that the reports on the power sector should be published in public and all culprits have to be sent behind the bars and fined without any discremination.
