Lahore, 17th May: Coronavirus is spreading rapidly in the country with the increase in the number of infected cases there is a rise in the number of deaths too.
According to Baaghi TV, 1,352 cases of coronavirus have been reported in the last 24 hours, due to which the total number has reached 40,151.
According to the National Command and Control Center:
14,590 cases are reported in Sindh
14,584 cases have been reported in Punjab
5,847 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
2,544 in Balochistan
947 in Islamabad
527 in Gilgit-Baltistan
112 are reported in Azad Kashmir
According to the data provided by the National Command and Operations Center, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has the highest number of 305 deaths due to coronavirus, followed by Sindh with 268, Punjab with 252, Balochistan with 36, Islamabad with 7 and Gilgit-Baltistan has reported 4 deaths so far. In Azad Kashmir, one person has lost his life due to coronavirus.
According to the data released by the National Command and Operations Center yesterday, the condition of 188 patients with coronavirus in the country was critical.
During the last 24 hours, 14,878 tests were conducted across the country while a total of 359,264 tests have been conducted.
It has been more than two months since the coronavirus was detected in Pakistan. Initially, the growth rate of cases was slow, but now it is increasing rapidly.
The first case of the virus in Pakistan was reported in Karachi on February 26, 2020, a month after which the number of cases had reached 1000 by March 25.
The first death from the coronavirus in the country occurred on March 18 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. So far, 834 deaths have been recorded in the country.
It should be noted that despite the spread of coronavirus, lockdown violations continue in various cities of the country. Despite all efforts, the administration seems to have failed to implement SOPs.
