Lahore, 28th June: The petrol prices in Pakistan have increased with an immediate effect. The government could not even wait for 4 four days so that the prices could change from the next coming month. The reason for this haste is yet to be unearthed.

Mubasher Lucman, the senior anchorperson has recently released a video on his YouTube channel about the sudden increase in the petrol prices, click the link below to watch the full video:

The whole social media is filled with criticism on government and PM Imran Khan. The public is hurt and this sudden increase of 25.10 rupees per liter in petrol is like a bomb explosion for the common man. The public feel that PM Imran Khan has failed and has surrendered in front of the mafia.

There was a shortage of petrol in the last month when the prices were low, the public was forced to wait and long queues were made for getting the fuel tank filled.

Fares of transportation increased after an increase in petroleum products

Pictures of public waiting in long lines and the old videos of Asad Umar and Imran Khan are taunting them as in the past they can clearly be seen criticizing the Nawaz government on the price increase and incompetence.

People feel that petrol depots and companies are going to make huge profits by hoarding and creating a shortage and now with the sudden hike, soaring profits will be registered. Whereas in the international market the crude oil is still trading below 40$ a barrel and oil production is 10% lower.

If we check out the price break up Government Levi Duty has increased to Rs 44, whereas in January 2020 the Levi Duty was 30 Rs. and the petrol prices were Rs 116 per liter.

The price spike of petrol is humiliating for the government

The reason for this huge price hike is yet to be explained- that immediately after the budget announcement and before approval of budget what was the reason for this move?

The government is facing a revenue shortage and petrol is the direct source of tax collection.

The public is burdened with this move so PM Imran Khan has to ask Omer Ayub Khan, the minister of Power and Petroleum division to look into the matter, investigate it, and inform the outcome.
