Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Minister for Water Resources, Faisal Vawda, notorious for ownership of multiple properties across London is possibly worth millions, but what is the truth behind his accumulated wealth?
According to GEO and The News sources, the Minister owns roughly fourteen luxury properties across London in the United Kingdom (UK), worth millions.
Vawda who is a political leader affiliated with the ruling government of the PTI under leadership of Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has been in office since October of 2018, and has been a member of the National Assembly since August of 2018, respectively. Although the Minister is in government due to his association with PM Khan’s political party, famously known to be in power and working to ensure a corruption-free society, there is an essential question that goes unanswered – and that is the accumulation of wealth by Vawda, and how it was possible?
According to sources, despite having properties worth millions, the Minister only registered as a tax payer back in 2004 following which his tax records showed as zero for many years. Similarly, the Minister only mentioned one company at the time that he submitted his nomination papers the sales tax for which had reportedly been suspended due-to what was considered non-payment of taxes. At the time it was reported that the Minister avoided displaying a detailed version until November of 2018 when he was already in office.
Experts have debated over Vawda’s inflow and outflow of money in the past citing it as involvement in money laundering, tax evasion and/or possession of assets beyond his means. Furthermore, while the Minister disclosed details of ownership of some of his foreign properties in 2018, he was reportedly ‘hesitant’ about sharing further details pertaining to the properties.
According to public records, Vawda in conversation with the media had disclosed ownership of five properties in the UK and declared them officially in his nomination papers as well as going on to clarify that they had been bought through ‘legal means’ none the less, he failed to provide concrete details and refused to comment further at the time.
However, as per reports of The News and GEO, the PTI minister is worth nearly thirty-seven million pounds in total. The breakdown for which is as follows:

The property is located on Elgin Avenue which is a street in the Greater London Urban area and measures up to approximately 1,410 meters long. It is estimated that properties in this area sell for nearly £833,084.77 on average.
According to GEO and The News this property is worth 1.2 million pounds.

The average price of property as estimated in July 2020, is roughly £792,554. According to reports, in terms of property types, flats in W2 2PL are sold for an average of £792,554 while terraced houses are sold for £2,436,841.

Quadrangle Tower is reportedly a gated development, which has recently been refurbished to a high standard and benefits. The pirce on average is reported to be £925,000.

The Water Gardens is a gated residential complex with three gated and portered apartment blocks with entrance from around the corner from Edgware Road in London W2. It is around 10-15 minutes’ walk away from Hyde Park corner and Oxford Street.
According to GEO and The News, this is worth 1.8 million pounds.

Last sold in December of 2014, this property was estimated at £1,200,000. According to The News and GEO, this is worth 1.8 million.

Edgware Road is in the Hyde Park ward of Westminster, Inner London where the most expensive property that has sold was for £1,020,000.

According to a UK based property business, this 1 bed flat is estimated at £485,000 and was last leased out in October of 2016.
GEO and The News have estimated its worth at 1.3 million pounds.
- 466 Park West Edgeware Road, Paddington, W2 2QU worth 1.2 million pounds
According to the UK-based real estate website Zoopla, after 2007 the property was listed for sale in July 2016 and the demand price of this property was £550,000. However the flat was sold at the rate of £495,000 (Rs91.575 million) in October 2016. The property is believed to have been bought by Vawda at the price of £285,000.

The real estate website has estimated the price of this property up to £1.3 million. According to a UK website this property was sold in 2008 at the rate of £600,000 and then again it was sold in December 2014 at the price of £1,200,000. It is reported that Vawda owned this property in December 2014.

After 2007, the flat was listed for sale in November 2014 and March 2017 and the demand price of the property was £1.15 million. Vawda allegedly bought this flat on 13 Sept 2007 at the rate of £640,000.
