In Quetta, too, the flour crisis becomes serious: Report
Baaghi TV: Like the rest of the country, the flour crisis in Quetta is getting serious. Mill flour has become expensive at Rs 10 and fine flour at Rs 5 per kg. The food department is not providing wheat to flour mills and mill owners.
The new storm of inflation in Quetta has upset the citizens. Despite the arrival of the wheat bounty market, a 20 kg bag of milled flour in different parts of the city has increased by 200 to 1,200. And a bag of fine flour is selling at Rs. 1080. Inflation-stricken people say why the government does nothing.
The Balochistan Food Department has procured millions of tonnes of wheat this year. Flour mill and mill owners say they are not being supplied with wheat officially, forcing them to buy wheat from the open market at higher prices and sell flour.
Food department officials are of the view that flour is available in government wheat warehouses and steps are being taken to overcome the crisis.
