KARACHI: Inter-Parliamentary Union President Gabriela Cuevas Barron will arrive in Pakistan tomorrow on a five-day visit.

According to details, Mexican woman politician and President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Gabriela Cuevas Barron is arriving in Pakistan on a five-day visit tomorrow.

Sources said that orders have been issued to tighten security at Noor Khan Air Base and Islamabad International Airport on the arrival of the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

Gabriela Cuevas Barron  is coming to Pakistan at the special invitation of Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani. On the occasion of her visit to Pakistan, Gabriela Cuevas Barron will meet President Dr. Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan and other senior officials.

Gabriela Cuevas will also visit Lahore, Chakwal, Gwadar and Pasni. Prior to her arrival, the Civil Aviation Authority has also directed to complete preparations at the airport.

It is to be noted that Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjarani had announced to contest the election of the President of the International Parliamentary Union in July this year, for which the election will be held in December this year. He was nominated by the Speaker of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser.

For the first time in the history of the country, Sadiq Sanjarani will take part in the election of the presidents of the IPU.
