Petition against transfer of IG Punjab, Petitioner upset by Chief Justice remarks

According to the report of Baaghi TV, a petition was heard against the appointment of new IG Punjab, CCPO Lahore.
The Punjab government raised objections to the petition. During the hearing, Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Qasim Khan asked Malik Ahmed Khan if he was a lawyer? To which Malik Ahmad Khan replied that he was a lawyer.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Qasim Khan remarked that Shoaib Dastgir stood in the court and said that not every law can be enforced. Did you come to Lahore High Court to save such officers? On which the counsel for the petitioner said that we did not come to rescue Shoaib Dastgir. We want the rule of law.
The Punjab government’s counsel said that the petitioner was not an affected party. The Chief Justice said that how the petitioner is not an affected party, in such cases, Advocate General Punjab should have convened the meeting himself.

League leader Malik Ahmad Khan challenged the exchange of Shoaib Dastgir. The petition has been filed against the Chief Secretary Punjab and others.
The petition filed in the Lahore High Court said that the change of IG Punjab for political purposes from the present government, the change of IG Punjab is a violation of the Police Ordinance 2002. According to the Police Ordinance 2002, IG Punjab can be posted for three years.
The petitioner further said that the present government has changed 5 IGs in just 2 years.
It may be recalled that the Punjab government had yesterday transferred IG Punjab Shoaib Dastgir and appointed Inam Ghani as IG.
