Islamabad, 11th June: According to the report of Baghi TV, a senior journalist of Lahore has gone missing in Islamabad.

Muhammad Anis-ur-Rehman, a member of Lahore Press Club, a member of Punjab Union of Journalists, editor of Nawa-e-Waqt Group’s magazine Nadai Millat and author of several books, has gone missing from Islamabad.

He reportedly went to the Saudi embassy yesterday afternoon for work but disappeared. He had gone in a friend’s car. Tarnol police station received the request but asked him to approach the police station secretariat for a report.

According to Punjab Union of Journalists President Ziaullah Khan Niazi, Anis-ur-Rehman has been missing since 1 pm on Wednesday.

Journalists’ organizations have expressed concern over the incident and demanded immediate action from the government to recover senior journalist Anis-ur-Rehman.

Journalists’ organizations have warned the government that if Anis-ur-Rehman is not rescued immediately, not only will government functions be boycotted, but a nationwide protest movement will be launched.
