Lahore, 2nd February: A newly-built statue of Pakistan’s national poet Allama Mohammad Iqbal has drawn criticism on social media. Baaghi TV: A large sculpture of Allama Iqbal installed at a Lahore park has disappointed the citizens who are now calling the authorities to remove it. The newly-built statue has been placed at Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park but has failed to match the iconic personality of Allama Iqbal. People on social media have sharply criticised the quirky sculpture that needs to be removed soon. The debate started when a social media user posted a picture of the oversized bust condemning its artistic accuracy.
