Lahore: Lahore Police in collaboration with District administration and members of Central Executive Peace Committee kicked off ‘Aman Caravan’ today from Town Hall today to promote interfaith harmony, peace and tolerance as well as to make possible peaceful Muharram.
Aman Caravan led by Capital City Police Chief Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar included Commissioner Lahore Capt(R) Muhammad Usman, participants from different schools of thought and members of Central Executive Peace Committee to promote non-violence, religious tolerance and communal harmony. The caravan left from the Town Hall and covered several areas of the city, including Mall Road, Old Anarkali, Block Sayyedan Islampura, Gulberg, Muslim Town, Abbot Road and other places. The participants of the Caravan reached at different majalis and mourning processions and met with the religious leaders,license hilders and organizers of the processions and majalis. At the launch of Aman Caravan, CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said, “We want to give a message to anti peace elements that for peace and integrity we are united without any discrimination of sect, caste and creed.He further said there is a dire need to make joint efforts to counter the nefarious design of enemy of our country, adopting ways and means that can lead our nation towards a peaceful Muharram. “Strengthening interfaith values, improving attitude of tolerance, brotherhood and unity, promotion of permanent peace should be a priority for every stakeholder, he added. None of this will be possible without curbing intolerance, violent extremism and terrorism”. The participants of Caravan included members of Central Executive Peace Committee such as Agha Hussain Qazalbash,Syed Khurram Abbas Naqvi, Amir Dogar, Mufti Imran Hanafi, Molana Abdul Manan Ambalvi, Rana Muhammad Nasrullah Khan, Prof. Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi, . Molana Shakil Ur Rehman Nasir, Hafiz Abdul Waheed Ropari and others.
