IG Punjab assured full cooperation of ulemas in Muharram Ul Haram

Lahore: A delegation of Ulemas led by Maulana Syed Abdul Khabeer Azad, Chairman Central Rouyet-e-Hilal Committee, called on IG Punjab Inam Ghani and assured cooperation and unity among muslims and sectarian unity during Muharram Ul Haram . The IG Punjab thanked the religious scholars for their cooperation and said that the role of religious scholars in promoting national unity and inter-faith harmony in Pakistan is commendable and I am grateful that you are present for peace, which is why the cooperation of scholars for religious harmony and brotherhood has always been a source of satisfaction for us. He added that rapid development has changed the world and now the way of wars has also changed. The country with which the war was intended used to be attacked, but now we are weakening the enemy country by making it clash on the basis of internal discord, color, religion, race and ethnicity. To thwart the conspiracies of countries and evil elements, we must further promote interfaith harmony, unity and brotherhood. He further said that the role of religious scholars is fundamental in maintaining peace in Muharram and they are playing it responsibly. Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad, Chairman Central Rouyet-e-Hilal Committee, who was the head of the delegation, said that the sacrifices of the Ulema in the cause of Pakistan need no introduction. Today we assure the IG Punjab that in maintaining peace during Muharram, the scholars will continue to play their best role. Maulana Abdul Wahab Rupari while talking said that they stand by the side of law enforcement agencies for the survival and security of Pakistan while Hafiz Kazim Raza Naqvi while talking said that every conspiracy of miscreants to destroy peace of Pakistan will be foiled and we will continue to do our part for the security and development of the country along with the law enforcement agencies. The delegation included Maulana Abdul Wahab Rupari, Pir Syed Nazim Hussain Shah, Hafiz Kazim Raza Naqvi, Sahibzada Pir Usman Noori, Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Sialvi, Maulana Amjad Khan, Mufti Mubashir Ahmad Nizami, Maulana Qazi Abdul Ghaffar Qadri, Maulana Ikram Elahi, Maulana Rashid Mian. Maulana Mir Asif Akbar, Hafiz Khalid Hassan, Dr. Ragheb Hussain Naeemi, Abdul Mufti Lameed Asad, Mufti Abdul Qadir, Maulana Abdul Star Niazi, Syed Abdul Basir Azad, Maulana Muhammad Ali Naqshbandi, Maulana Mufti Imran Hanafi, Hafiz Syed Abdul Razzaq Azad, Maulana Shakeel-ur-Rehman Nasir, Maulana Aziz-ur-Rehman Sani, Qari Zahoor Ahmad, Hafiz Qasim Ali Qasmi, Hafiz Muhammad Ajmal Hussain Qadri, Maulana Haji Akram and Hafiz Asad Obaid were among the scholars of different schools of thought. At the end of the meeting, special prayers were offered for the security, development, stability and prosperity of the country.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani has said that the purpose of starting internship of university students in police offices is to provide practical learning opportunities to the students pursuing higher education and in this regard MOUs have been signed under which the internship program will be continued in the future as well. He further said that the students who have completed the internship sessions in various branches of the Central Police Office including Establishment, Legal, R&D, DPR, Complaint Cell and others have pointed out the issues for improving the working, Punjab Police by keeping in their resources shall continue to improve public service delivery by addressing them. He further said that the students who have completed the internship in the police offices will go to the society as police Ambassadors and will improve the relations between the people and the police whereas we are thankful to the students for their suggestions and practical steps will be taken to implement them. He expressed these views while addressing the students at the closing ceremony of Punjab Police Internship Program at Central Police Office here today. During the ceremony, the students also presented their reports of research work made during the internship in the police offices and made suggestions for upgrading the working system and improving service delivery based on their observations. Giving a presentation, the students said that the perception of the police in the public is contrary to the ground realities and by doing an internship in the IG office, we have got an opportunity to know the challenges facing the police. Punjab Police is doing a good job in available resources. The 14 students who completed the internship are from Quaid-e-Azam University, Lums and Lahore School of Economics in which IG Punjab also distributed certificates. Additional IG Establishment Ali Amir Malik, Additional IG Welfare and Finance Muhammad Farooq Mazhar, Additional IG Training Kanwar Shahrukh, DIG Training Dr Suleiman Sultan Rana, DIG Crimes / Investigation Sharaq Kamal Siddiqui, DIG Headquarters Shahzada Sultan, DIG R&D, Shahid Javed and DIG IT Waqas Nazir were also present along with other officers.
