Ancient Remains of more than 100 Children Discovered

Vaso: More than 100 graves of the 16th century children have been discovered in the European country of Poland.

Centuries-old skulls and bones have been recovered from graves during the completion of a motorway project in Poland, according to a report by a foreign news agency. The Department of Archeology says the remains suggest that most of the bones belong to children, while other aspects are being investigated.

According to the report, 70 to 80 percent of the remains recovered from 16th century graves belong to children from whose mouths coins of the past have also been recovered.

The tombs were discovered in the Polish town of Podcarpeski, where a jungle motorway line is being laid that will connect Poland with two European countries.

Coins were also found inside the skulls that were placed in men’s mouths as a special religious devotion in the 16th century to soothe their souls, the report said.

Archaeologists say it was not a mass grave, but rather a neatly buried tomb, suggesting that there used to be a cemetery here, which is now a forest.
