Lahore, 24th June: Pakistan urges World Health Organization (WHO) to decide which vaccine should be acceptable for foreign travel.

Head of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Asad Umar has urged the World Health Organisation (WHO) to take decisions on vaccine acceptability soon.

Taking to his Twitter account, Asad Umar wrote on Thursday, “Vaccine acceptability decisions have to be taken by a global institution like WHO.”

He further wrote that a chaos is being created worldwide as each country decides which vaccine is acceptable to travel to that country.

He tweeted, “The health and well being of people around the world cannot become hostage to global geo strategic rivalries.”

Only the AstraZeneca vaccine against COVID-19 arrived through COVAX facility, which has been given to few people over the age of 40.

It is pertinent to mention here that many countries including Saudi Arabia do not accept Chinese vaccines apart form the fact that WHO has reegisterd the Sinopharm vaccine.
