Aviation Division releases domestic flight schedules
The Aviation Division of Pakistan has released a schedule of domestic flight operations before Eid ul Fitr due to the coronavirus epidemic.
According to the schedule, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and SereneAir will be operating the domestic flight operations which will partially resume from May 16.
Reportedly, flight operations will resume at airports of Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar with only 50 per cent passengers allowed on board.

According the standard operating procedures (SOPs) under consideration, social distancing and wearing of face masks would be ensured. Moreover, all inbound and outbound passengers would have to undergo a full medical examination.
As per the schedule issued by Aviation Division, 68 flights will be operated at Karachi airport while 32 flights each at Lahore and Islamabad airports per week.
Moreover, Quetta airport will be operating 8 flights and 4 flights will be operated at Peshawar airport on weekly basis.
SereneAir announces special flights from May 16
Before the coronavirus pandemic, a total of 369 flights were managed at the Karachi airport while Lahore and Islamabad airports operated 151 and 228 flights, respectively. Quetta and Peshawar airports also managed 14 and 20 flights per week, respectively.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, the current percentage of normal operations per city is as follows:
- Karachi: 18.42%
- Islamabad: 14.00%
- Lahore: 21.20%
- Quetta: 15.00%
- Peshawar: 20.00%
It is pertinent to mention here that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has banned the domestic flight operations till May 29.
