Sept 14, 2021: China has built a runway in mineral-rich town of Saindak, Balochistan.

The Juzzak Airport in Chagai district of Balochistan has been made operational for flights to and from Karachi for Chinese engineers working on projects in the region.

According to details, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) held a ceremony on the border region airport site on Sunday night to inaugurate the strip for Chinese staffers.

Separately, the first flight of the national flag career landed at the Kabul International airport after the new government in Afghanistan on Monday.

As per details, the flight PK-6249 landed at Kabul airport at 9.45 am local time. Special arrangements were put in place by the Afghan Civil Aviation officials and local PIA staff.

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has performed a successful test flight at a Chinese-built runway in the mineral-rich region of Balochistan’s Saindak.

PIA Chief Executive Officer Air Marshal Arshad Malik while speaking to he media hoped for the complete revival of flight operations between Pakistan to Afghanistan soon.

Last month, the Parliamentary Committee on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor  was informed that progress on the New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) was on track and would be fully operational by September 2023.

In a meeting of the committee chaired by Sher Ali Arbab, the secretary of the aviation division told the panel that the project, which was originally expected to be completed by next year, has been postponed until October 2023.

The China Airport Construction Group informed the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority of the new deadline for the new airport project in Balochistan’s Saindak, which delayed the Chinese-funded project.
