Beirut Explosion: 30 died, over 3,000 people injured
BEIRUT: A bomb blast near the Lebanese capital, Beirut, has killed at least 30 people and injured more than 3,000 others, officials say.

According to eyewitnesses, the blasts took place in an ammunition depot located in the port area, 20 kilometers north of Beirut. The blasts were heard several kilometers away, destroying buildings and burning dozens of vehicles parked on highways.
The cause of the blasts was not immediately clear, Lebanon’s head of general security, Abbas Ibrahim, told reporters that “highly explosive material” had been placed at the site of the blasts.This content was confiscated some time ago.
