Biden nominates Pakistani-American as a Deputy head of a US agency

Lahore, 5th March: US president Joe Biden nominates a Pakistani-American as deputy head of US government agencies for small businesses.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, Pakistani-American Dilawar Syed has been nominated by US President Joe Biden as the deputy administrator for the Small Business Administration (SBA).

According to reports, the SBA is a United States government agency that provides support to entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Dilawar said that he is humbled and honoured by the nomination. He shared in a brief message on Twitter, “If confirmed by the US Senate, I will put my heart & soul into helping small businesses everywhere in these challenging times”.

As per reports, Dilawar migrated to the United States as a student. Currently, he is the president and CEO at Lumiata, an artificial intelligence company focused on reducing healthcare costs and improving patient outcomes.

A statement from the White House read that Dilawar Syed has driven civic efforts at the federal, state, and local level focusing on economic growth and entrepreneurship. As the founding chair of the California Entrepreneurship Task Force with the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, Dilawar drives inclusive entrepreneurship bridging coastal regions with the state’s rural heartland.

He was previously a part of the former US President Barack Obama’s White House Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
