New York: United States (US) Air Force F-16 plane crashed in the southern region, killing the pilot.
According to international media reports, a US Air Force plane crashed during a flight near Shah Airbase in South Carolina.
The U.S. Air Force confirmed the crash and the pilot’s death, saying the incident happened on Wednesday night in which the F-16 crashed and the pilot died. According to an air force spokesman, only the pilot was on board.
The U.S. Air Force did not identify the pilot, but said the crash happened during a training flight.
Camp Commander Larry Sullivan said “the family of the pilot who died in the crash was notified on Wednesday night.”
“We cannot provide further information in the light of the rules and regulations. We will inform the media about everything as soon as it is allowed,” he said.
The report also said that after the plane crashed, the pilot was rescued and taken to the hospital around 11:30 pm, where he died during treatment.
The U.S. Air Force has launched an investigation into the crash. It may be recalled that a US Air Force plane crashed near the British Coast last month, killing the pilot on the spot.
