According to a Baaghi TV report, in response to the growing trend of Islamophobia, Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that he and the government of Pakistan strongly condemn the French magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the sentiments of millions of Muslims were hurt due to the blasphemous sketches published by them. People are outraged. This unjustified act is to be condemned. We are seeing a growing trend of Islamophobia, racism, and xenophobia in the world.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan had pointed out this issue in every international forum.

Addressing the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Imran Khan also pointed out the issue and called on the world to address the issue. At the international level, we must sit down and think about how to stop the tendencies that hurt the feelings of others, and how to stop them.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan is a democratic country and we believe in freedom of expression, but freedom of expression does not mean that you have got the license to hurt others. We expect the international community to address this issue immediately and root out such trends.

The Government of Pakistan has conveyed its concerns to the Government of France. We have conveyed our sentiments to the French government through their ambassador. I hope that not only will such a blasphemous act not be repeated, but that those who have done so will be brought to justice.
