Blue Origin astronaut Glen de Vries dies in plane crash

New Jersey: Glen de Vries, One of Blue Origin’s newest astronauts, aged 49-year-old after surviving a ride to space in October alongside actor William Shatnerdies in a small plane crash in New Jersey.

A spokesperson for Dassault Systèmes expressed his grief over his death and stated that we are deeply saddened by his death, where de Vries was the vice chairman of life sciences and healthcare. They said that they sympathize with MEDIDATA team, which Glen co-founded. He was a brilliant man with a lot of dreams and ambitions which we all shared in.
According to the New Jersey State Police , the plane went down in a wooded area afternoon in Hampton Township, about 40 miles northwest of New York City. FAA records say a Cessna 172 — a four-seat airplane used for training and recreational flights — was involved in a fatal crash under “unknown circumstances in a heavily wooded area”. The National Transportation Safety Board tweeted Thursday it is investigating the crash.
