A few years ago public relations was the most useful way for promoting anything as it is one of the oldest but effective ways to promote any kind of business. PR is a mature activity and it needs an effective strategy for ideal targets and itself speaks directly to the needs, wants, concerns, and desires of the customers.

Most people hardly believe in advertisements, what they see in adverts is not believable for them but they are attracted to what is communicated through PR. They believe in two-way communication as it completes the communication cycle. PR ensures feedback from customers to cognize brand experience and value. A variety of programs are included in it to promote and keep a company brand image. Talking points development, media training, press releases, and crises management, play an important role in branding and it can all be done through PR, generally associated with communication tools and activities.

Now, this is a technological era where communication becomes faster than ever. Additionally, PR has also changed its ways of communication itself like social media platforms are the powerful tools of communication and every single person linked to it. Branding can also be done by using social media platforms and it’s one of the bests tactics for now.

Research shows that there are 4.32 billion internet users worldwide. Of those, 3.96 billion have social media accounts.

Thereby, people share their opinions, discuss day-to-day matters, talk about brands and interact with other people and brands through social media. Some sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, and others are some of the most engaging social media platforms. But not all platforms can be used for every brand. 

Furthermore, choosing social media sites according to the target audience is very important. For example, a clothing brand can use Facebook and Instagram to reach its highest level because people of every age, gender, and class are the users of Facebook and most of them are on Instagram as well so it is the best way to reach them.

Moreover, social media sites are free however, they provide paid opportunities to market a brand or business online which is the foremost benefit of this powerful medium. The most effective way of social branding is that to remain active on social media, use it in a proper way to reach the target audience and to get in touch with the customers. Posts that include videos and pictures can further encourage engagement with the brand.

Consequently, social media and PR both are creative, helpful, and effective for brand building. Both can be and used at the same time to make a brand popular and can get remarkable results in the form of success of the brand.
