Breaking News: Blast in Chauburji Lahore

Lahore, 4th September: An explosion has taken place in the Chauburji Chowk of Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab, killing one person.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, the blast took place at a private bank in Chauburji Chowk. The roof of the bank collapsed due to the blast, burying all the people in the bank under the rubble.

Rescue 1122 and a heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot. Seven people got buried under the rubble, and have been rescued.

According to police, the blast was due to a gas leak. SSP Operations Faisal Shehzad said that according to preliminary information, the blast was due to a gas leak at various points.

The blast at a private bank in Chauburji Chowk took place at around 1:45 pm. Police and other security agencies have taken control of the area and the cause of the collapse is being ascertained.

According to police, further investigations are underway and the area has been evacuated.

According to the management of Services Hospital, seven injured have been shifted to the hospital while one person has died.
