Feb 1, 2022: According to a report by Reuters, Jimin, a singer and dancer with the K-pop group BTS, has tested positive for coronavirus and also underwent surgery for acute appendicitis, his management agency Big Hit Music said on Monday.

BTS fans have been curious about Park Jimin for the past few days as he was the only person in the septet to be completely inactive on social media platforms.

Now that ARMYs have finally received an update about him from the singer’s agency, they are heartbroken because the singer has tested positive for Covid-19 in addition to undergoing surgery for severe appendicitis.

Jimin, whose full name is Park Jimin, went to the hospital on Sunday with a sudden abdominal pain and mild sore throat, Big Hit Music said in a statement. The statement added that he tested positive for corona virus and underwent appendicitis surgery on Monday. “Surgery has been successful and Jimin is currently recovering from his procedure,” said Big Hit Music, adding that he is “recovering fast” from his COVID-19 infection.

The statement said the singer was to receive post-operative care as well as treatment for COVID-19. Jimin 26, is at least the fourth member of the seven-member group to test positive for the coron virus.

Rapper RM, vocalist Jin, and rapper Suga tested positive in December, shortly after the BTS had returned from a series of live shows in the United States.

Since their 2013 debut, BTS have spearheaded a global K-Pop craze with catchy, upbeat music and dances, as well as lyrics and social campaigns aimed at empowering young people.
