According to the report of Baaghi TV, there was a commotion during the appearance of PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz in the NAB office. Capt (R) Safdar reached the court for interim bail.
The court granted interim bail to Capt (R) Safdar till September 4. Duty Additional Sessions Judge Noor Ahmed Bismal heard the case. The court issued notice to the police and sought the record of the case.
Captain R Safdar’s lawyer told the court that it had nothing to do with the commotion outside the NAB office. The court granted bail and sought records from the police.
Captain R Safdar said that bail is our right, we are bound by law, this is the most unique case in the history of Pakistan, Prime Minister is Planning and Shehzad Akbar is assisting him.
At the request of NAB against the attack on the NAB office by PML-N workers on the occasion of Maryam Nawaz’s NAB appearance, other personalities including PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz at Chohang police station. A case has been registered against the assembly members and workers.
Other PML-N figures named in the case include Rana Sanaullah, Muhammad Zubair, Javed Latif, Bilal Yasin and others. The case against PML-N includes provisions of 353, 427, 148 and 16 MPOs.
The text of the petition said that workers led by Maryam Safdar pelted stones at the officials. Maryam Nawaz attacked NAB at the behest of her husband Safdar Awan. League officials pelted stones, injuring 13 officials, including NAB employees.
Earlier in the day, the Lahore Sessions Court had directed the police to take legal action against Capt (retd) Safdar on his application for registration of case against NAB and others. Additional Sessions Judge Ijaz Ahmed Gondal heard Capt (retd) Safdar’s application for registration of case against Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chairman NAB among others. The court directed the police to listen to the petitioner and take action as per law.
Captain Safdar’s lawyer argued that the government was using institutions. A prosecution team has also been formed. In this case, the government is paying so much attention that the SPs have reached the court themselves. Farhad Ali Shah further added in his arguments that the report submitted by the police was also false. The glass of the bullet proof vehicle cannot be broken by stone, Maryam Nawaz was attacked. According to the police order, the police investigation and operation wing are separate. How did the SHO find out that this request was invalid?
The public prosecutor took the position that the signature on the petition filed by the petitioner was forged. The court ruled that if the signatures were forged, you should apply to the court. The public prosecutor said that the NAB called them to respond but they went on a rampage and stones were recovered from their vehicles. Which proves that their intention was to attack, so the petition should be rejected.
Capt (retd) Safdar has filed a petition against the Prime Minister, Chairman NAB and others. The petition has named Prime Minister Imran Khan, Shehzad Akbar, Chairman NAB and DG NAB among others as parties.
The petition said that during the appearance of Maryam Nawaz, she was attacked and government machinery was used indiscriminately. A petition was filed against Prime Minister Imran Khan, Shehzad Akbar, Chairman and DG NAB but no case is being registered. The petition said that the court should order registration of case against those who attacked and issued orders.
It is to be noted that on the occasion of NAB appearance of PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, stones were brought from Raiwind in a vehicle and police were pelted with stones outside the NAB office by PML-N workers.
