PM’s salary 2 lakh, MD PTV’s salary 16 lakh, Standing Committee expressed its indignation

According to Baaghi TV, the meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting was chaired by Senator Faisal Javed.

The Standing Committee, while expressing reservations over the broadcast and publication of words deleted during the proceedings of Parliament, has emphasized on the method of daily transmission instead of broadcasting the proceedings of Parliament live.

The standing committee expressed frustration over the salary of Rs 16 lakh of MD PTV. The chairman of the committee, Senator Faisal Javed, said that PTV’s performance was zero except for Ertugrul Ghazi. The people have money, the salary of the Prime Minister is less than 2 lakh. What are the technology officers in PTV  taking nine lakh for?

Committee members said that millions of rupees are being distributed like herds. Leave starvation for God’s sake. Someone else is taking millions of rupees in salaries and benefits, and politicians are notorious for it.

Senator Noman Wazir Khattak said that under the law, deleted words cannot be printed. Anyone who prints deleted words should be obliged to print an apology. The Information Secretary said that in live broadcasts, things cannot be stopped which will be deleted later. The ministry has written to NPNS and APNE to stop the publication of the deleted words.

N-League Senator Pervez Rashid, while opposing the delay system, said that after 70 years, he was able to broadcast the proceedings of Parliament live. Installing a delay system would be a step back from this struggle. Parliament will oppose controlling the proceedings. Democracy is weakened by covering up parliamentary proceedings.

Federal Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz said that publishing in the media what the chairman of the Senate deletes is tantamount to violating the prerogatives of Parliament. Deleted items should not be broadcast, any newspaper that publishes deleted words should apologize, do not want any restrictions on freedom of expression. We will abide by the orders of the Chairman of the Senate or the Speaker.
