Case filed against organizers of PDM's Gujranwala Jalsa

A case was registered against the organizers of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally that took place on October 16 at the Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala.

According to sources, the case was registered in the Civil Line police station on the complaint of the government and it includes provisions for violation of coronavirus SOPS and blocking of roads.

Police sources said that three people including Pakistan Muslim League Nawa (PML-N) leader Khurram Dastgir have been named as accused in the case. PML-N National Assembly member Mahmood Bashir Virk and city president Salman Khalid Butt have also been named as accused.

According to police sources, more than 100 unidentified persons have also been named in the case.

It may be recalled that the opposition alliance PDM had held the first meeting of the anti-government movement on October 16, which was hosted by the PML-N. Shahbaz Gill, special assistant to PM Imran Khan, had announced action against the organizers of the rally.
