Rahim Yar Khan: The anti-corruption police arrested a constable who received a bribe of Rs 10,000 by tricking the accused arrested in a case.

The constable was arrested in the presence of the Area Magistrate. Proceedings were initiated after the money received in the bribe was transferred to the jail.

According to the details, Muhammad Yar, a resident of Jaja Abbasian, stated in his complaint to the District and Sessions Judge that Shafiq Ahmed, a constable posted in the court of Area Magistrate Malik Rafiq Ahmed, who is a resident of Tahir Colony and City A Division police station that his son was arrested in the case and that his bail was granted by the court.

However, when he arrived at the court late along with his son on the due date, compliance constable Shafiq Ahmed told him that his son had been declared guilty for not appearing on time. However, if he pays a bribe of Rs 12,000, his son will have to appear in court and he will also be acquitted by the court in the registered case. On which he paid the amount of Rs.2000 and the remaining amount of Rs.10,000 was to be paid later.

The District and Sessions Judge directed the Area Magistrate Nadeem Asghar Nadeem took action along with anti-corruption on the written complaint of Muhammad Yar. Yesterday, Mohammad Yar paid the remaining amount of Rs. 10,000 to Constable Shafiq Ahmed.

Meanwhile, Anti-Corruption arrested Constable Shafiq Ahmed in the presence of Area Magistrate Nadeem Asghar Nadeem and recovered bribe from his possession. After recovering Rs 10,000, the operation was started. The arrested accused will be produced in court today for physical remand.
