CCPO directs top officers to conduct surprise visits of police stations

Lahore: CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has directed senior officers of Lahore Police including DIG Operations,DIG Investigation, SSPs of Operations and and Investigation Wings to hold surprise visits of police stations to check the performance of personnel deputed as well as to redress the grievances of the complainants. He further directed divisional SsP to check the performance of their relevant police stations ensuring no pending applications of the complainants and timely registration of FIRs. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said illegal detention, abuse of powers and misbehavior with citizens will not be tolerated at any cost. He further directed police officers to provide pleasant atmosphere to the citizens at police stations by improving their attitude towards citizens, cleanliness situation and planting flowers plants and trees in the premises. CCPO Lahore ordered police officers to depute special patrolling squads at hotspot areas and DSsP and SHOs to personally monitor the snap checking process in their areas of jurisdiction. All SHOs and Investigation In charges would ensure their presence in police stations during specific hours to listen to the problems of citizens and redress of their grievances, he added.
CCPO Lahore also presided a joint interactive session of Muharars and Police Community Guides at District Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh. SSP Operations Waqar Shoaib Qureshi was also present on this occasion. CCPO Lahore said the Community Guides though police officers, are actually representatives of public in police stations. The appointment of the Police Community Guides had been made by survey as well as secret balloting on the basis of their honesty, integrity, humanity and professionalism to serve the citizens with dedication and respect, understanding the importance and sensitivity of their fresh assignments. The citizens now feel free and at ease to visit police stations in presence of police community guides for redress of their grievances, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar added. The Community Guides assist visitors and provide them help and guidance from the gate of police station till their meeting with relevant staff and officers for solutions of their problems. Community police Guide ensure full support to the citizens in writing applications, meetings with SHOs, In charges Investigations as well as prisoners in lock ups, registration of FIRs and data entry, guidance regarding police services and other related matters. There has definitely occurred a visible positive change in Thana Culture due to incumbent of CGs. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said beat system in police stations has been made functional within next few days and Beat Officer will be responsible to make record of all the related information in the beat.

Earlier, the promotional badges pinning ceremony to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was held at Capital City Police Headquarters Lahore today. CCPO Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar along with SSP Discipline Mubashir Maken pinned shoulder promotion badges of the rank of DSP on two Inspectors, Ghulam Shabir Bhatti and Ali Abbas. Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar expressed best wishes for the future professional career of the promoted police officers. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar congratulated the promoted officers and said “Departmental promotion not only upgrades ranks, but also enhances responsibilities of the officers to serve the humanity with more dedication and professionalism.” CCPO Lahore hoped for best contribution towards effective citizen centric policing by the newly promoted police officers. The Inspectors promoted to the next rank were performing duties in different units of Lahore office. Moreover a financial grant cheques distribution ceremony was also held today at Capital City Police Headquarters. Capital City Police Officer Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar along with SSP Discipline Mubashir Maken distributed 40 cheques worth rupees 10 lac as Corona Relief Grant among employees of different units of Lahore police including Traffic Police, Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit and Ring Road Police. Commander Lahore Police Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said that welfare of police officers and officials, their family members particularly the heirs of police martyrs is our top priority. Welfare Eye wing in CCPO office is providing online welfare services and focal persons have also been deputed in all divisional offices to assist and guide police employees and their families regarding their different financial matters. CCPO Lahore also lauded the performance of members of police force who were affected by Corona virus and joined their duties after recovery. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said police has done great efforts to create awareness among citizens regarding Corona SOPs to contain their unnecessary movements and wear mask.
