Lahore, 30th May: Ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) is the first step of normal ties between Pakistan and India, said the Indian Army Chief.

According to reports, the Indian Army Chief General M M Naravane said that the ceasefire along the LoC between India and Pakistan is the first step to create bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries.

According to reports from the Indian news agency, General Naravane said that a sense of peace and security has prevailed in the region after adhering to the ceasefire pact along the LoC.

The Indian General added that the tensions along the LoC cause hardships for the people living on both sides of the border.

 

He reported that since the ceasefire pact came into effect, there has been no reports of cross-border firing by both armies.

According to the reports, after huge losses of civilian and military lives along the LoC, a great significance has been laid to observe the ceasefire agreement of 2003.

According to the announcement made on February 25, Pakistan and India have strictly adhered to follow the 2003 ceasefire pact along the LoC and other border sectors under the agreement.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India had contacted and discussed the situation along the Line of Control and other border sectors.

ISPR also reported that the two countries reiterated to follow the ceasefire agreements at the LoC and other border sectors starting from midnight of February 24.
