Lahore: Various celebrations were held on the occasion of International Women’s Day all over the world including Pakistan.

In connection with women day, federal ministry of human rights in collaboration with Christian Care foundation organized a ceremony in peace center on Tuesday.

Deputy Director Muhammad Ali Khan Mazari from Federal Ministry of Human Rights, Chairman Ruet e Hilal Committee and Khatib Badshahi Masjid Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad, Director Peace Center Father James Channan, CEO Christian Care Foundation Tanveer Yaqub and many other religious personalities participated in the ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said that Islam teaches women’s rights and equality while International Women’s Day reminds us that women are an important part of our society and all forms of violence against them should be eliminated. He emphasized that every religion teaches respect for women and ensuring the protection of their rights.Tanveer Yaqub said that the struggle of women in the establishment of Pakistan is a matter of pride. There is no doubt that the PTI government under Imran Khan provided equal opportunities to women in every field. Father James Channan congratulated women all over the world and paid tribute to Representatives of Christian Care Foundation to arrange ceremony. Other speakers also gave short speeches highlighted women’s rights and vowed to play their full role in protecting women’s rights at all levels. Special prayers were also offered for peace in the country.
